Lian R Carbonell, who appears to be the new girlfriend of Cuban volleyball player Leo Leyva, ignited social media with an Instagram post that many immediately interpreted as a pointed jab at Iraisel Pintueles, the athlete's ex-wife.
The message, shared from her account @mssrosell_02 and replicated by Un Martí To Durako, left little room for ambiguity: "It's obvious that I'm different. He didn’t know me through Instagram; he liked me from the very first time he saw me, and he didn’t even know me."
The caption, "Pure coincidence ...", intensified the suspicions of those closely following the story between Leo, Iraisel, and her recent divorce, confirmed by Iraisel herself in July 2026 after just 13 months of marriage.
A response soon appeared —or what many interpreted as such— from Iraisel's profile, who posted a story with the text: "Today is going to be a long day but... VI—VANNNN."
The expression was enough for followers on both sides to interpret it as a counterattack, and the Cuban influencer Un Martí To Durako took it upon himself to amplify the episode with a post that garnered hundreds of reactions: "The drama had been brewing for days and I didn’t even notice this movie."
Before the debate escalated further, Iraisel took to the comments of that post to clarify her stance: "I want to make it clear that I don't throw shade, because, honestly, it seems really immature to me. Relationships end, others begin, and everyone should move on with their lives," she wrote.
In the same comment, Iraisel explained that the "VIVAN" had no ulterior motive: "I used it because it's something viral, funny, and amusing, not because I was sending any message to anyone. That's not my way of being, nor do I engage in those things. I'm focused on my life, my projects, and my own affairs. The past is the past, and honestly, the lives of others are not something that interests me.”
The episode comes weeks after Leo Leyva publicly confirmed his new relationship with Lian R Carbonell in September, leaving affectionate comments on his posts and writing in Italian "La mia cosa ricca."
On her part, Iraisel was linked to a new romance in August, although she never confirmed the identity of her companion.
