Pentagon releases secret documents on UFO sightings, including a triangular object observed by FBI agents

The U.S. Department of Defense released on Friday its seventh batch of files on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), a set of 28 documents covering cases from the 1940s to 2026, bringing the total number of declassified records to 478 since May of this year.

The case that has generated the most attention in this report involves two special FBI agents and a third official who reported having seen a matte black triangular object near a national security facility in the western part of the country during 2026.

According to the file identified as FBI-UAP-D043, one of the agents described "a dark black triangular object, substantial and non-reflective, that resembled a delta-wing drone" and that, when observed through a thermal visor, appeared to be warmer than the ambient temperature, exhibiting a uniform thermal signature across the structure and without any visible exhaust gases.

The dimensions recorded in the documents place the object's wingspan between 2.7 and 4.6 meters, with a depth of between 1.8 and 2.7 meters and a thickness of just 30 to 60 centimeters.

The object's behavior was equally baffling to the witnesses: it ascended vertically for about 10 seconds without tilting or swaying, remained stationary for nearly 20 seconds, and then accelerated horizontally, covering approximately 2.5 kilometers in under three seconds, before descending into a canyon and disappearing without a trace of sound or smoke.

The agents described an absolute acoustic silence: no engine, no turbulence, no noise associated with the object throughout the entire sequence.

The same case is documented in a second file, the memorandum DOW-UAP-D176 prepared by the AARO office, which includes additional descriptions regarding the shape, color, and the absence of conventional propulsion features.

Among the historical documents in this seventh installment, four cases related to Santa Catalina Island, in Los Angeles County, stand out, spanning from 1949 to 1955.

One of them is an intelligence report from the Air Force dated June 1952, which includes the testimony of three boy scouts at Camp Fox: the youths claimed to have seen silver "flying saucers" moving at a speed greater than that of a conventional jet and that "they ascended rapidly before seemingly disintegrating."

The lot also includes nine documents from the AAWSAP/BAASS research program, ten Air Force reports from the 1950s, an aerial intelligence report from Saudi Arabia from 1957, and a 2010 file on investigations at Skinwalker Ranch in Utah, featuring testimonies from 25 witnesses regarding anomalous lights, orbs, and bipedal creatures.

The declassification initiative was driven by President Donald Trump, who announced in February 2026 that he would instruct the Secretary of War and other agencies to identify and publish files regarding alien life and UFOs. The resulting program, named PURSUE, was formalized on May 1, 2026, with support from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

The Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has described the initiative as "unprecedented transparency," although numerous critics point out that the material does not provide evidence of extraterrestrial life and serves as a political distraction ahead of the midterm elections on November third, at a time marked by the war with Iran and unfavorable polling for the Republicans.

The War Department explicitly warns that the published materials correspond to "unresolved" cases, which means that the researchers were unable to determine the nature of the phenomenon due to insufficient data, not that there is any confirmation of extraterrestrial origin.

The spokesperson for the Department of War, Sean Parnell, confirmed that the involved agencies are already working on a new delivery of files, although no date was specified.
