A resident of Cienfuegos reported on Facebook that unknown individuals broke into her home in the early hours and stole a portable EcoFlow Delta 2 Max battery, identity documents, bank cards, and cash amounting to approximately 270,000 Cuban pesos (CUP) and 50 dollars, according to her own account. The theft occurred around 3:33 in the morning.
Disnei Quintana Brunet detailed the stolen items: “They took 1 Ecoflow Delta 2 Max, a black bag containing all of my and my mother’s identification documents and cards, a large pink backpack that had a fanny pack, gloves, and a wallet with cash.”
Regarding the cash in the wallet, he specified that it was "approximately 30,000 CUP and 50 USD."
The largest loss was another: "They took the money from the sale of my store inside the backpack (approximately 240 thousand CUP)."
The complainant also noted that the perpetrators did not manage to complete the theft: "They didn't take the second Ecoflow because they ran out of time; in the image, you can see how they leave it outside in the hallway."
The attached images show a window with blinds that may exhibit signs of tampering in its hardware, the interior of a room with wires and backup electrical equipment, and an open box in an exterior hallway where, according to the complainant, the second piece of equipment was left abandoned.
The affected individual stated that she acted immediately: “The report has already been filed and the necessary measures have been taken, we are waiting. Anyone who can provide us with any conclusive information about the Ecoflow, the backpack, or the documents should contact me!!!”
And he issued a warning to those who have similar equipment: «Put as much security as you can on your Ecoflow and panels, etc... the criminal studies and takes advantage of the best moment.»
“We are not in a position to have the things that we worked so hard for taken from us”, he confessed.
Several users speculated that the perpetrators were familiar with the home. "The thief is well-known because to go straight for the money and everything stolen, they must be aware of the house's movements," one wrote. Another noted: "They went straight for the chest because they knew you had money and where it was."
Others expressed skepticism about the actions of the authorities. "I hope they catch the thief, but the police are more focused on those who put up posters and shout against the dictatorship than on the criminals," wrote one. Another added, "It's necessary for the police officers to perform their duties well because incidents like these are becoming widespread and there don't seem to be many results."
The theft of EcoFlow equipment has become a documented phenomenon in several provinces during 2026, driven by the high value of these devices in a country affected by prolonged blackouts. In October, three men were arrested in Santiago de Cuba after stealing seven EcoFlow stations from a factory. In September, a resident of Matanzas reported the theft of an EcoFlow and a solar panel following a break-in through a window. In August, a family in Ciego de Ávila lost an EcoFlow and other equipment while they were sleeping.
As of the closure of this news report, the complainant had not reported any progress in the investigation or the recovery of the stolen items.
