A Cuban citizen was arrested along with three other men during a police operation against alleged drug trafficking in Brazil, which led to the seizure of cocaine, marijuana, ammunition, and over 7,000 reais in cash.

The operation took place on Monday, October 26, in Samambaia, an administrative region of Brasília, the capital of the country, as reported by the Brazilian newspaper Metrópoles, citing information from the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF).

The intervention took place after police intelligence services identified a suspect who was allegedly trafficking illicit substances in the areas of Samambaia and Taguatinga.

According to authorities, the investigated individual intended to carry out a drug transaction in the area, which prompted agents to intensify surveillance and organize an operation in the sectors known as QR 210 and QR 607.

The operation was carried out by the Tactical Operational Group (GTOP 22), part of the Second Battalion of the Military Police, with the support of a specialized unit working with police dogs.

During the interventions, the agents arrested four men, including the Cuban citizen, and found considerable quantities of various substances.

According to the police report, five packets of marijuana, approximately 700 grams of cocaine, and two kilograms of skunk, a variety of cannabis known for its high THC concentration, were seized.

Portions of cocaine, marijuana, skunk, and crack were also found, which, according to the police, were divided and prepared for sale.

In addition to the drugs, the agents confiscated 7,200 Brazilian reais in cash, two precision scales, and ammunition of 9 millimeter and .40 calibers, identified in the report as restricted-use.

During the inspections, three wild birds were also located, which were included among the seized items.

The four detainees were transferred, along with the seized substances and items, to the 26th Police Delegation of Samambaia, where they were made available to the authorities for the appropriate proceedings.

So far, the released information does not clarify the specific role attributed to each of the four detainees, nor has it been publicly established which of them was the suspect initially under police surveillance.
