Nathan Bentley, 18 years old, lost his life on Friday night after being shot during a dispute at a McDonald's restaurant located in the northwest of Miami-Dade, according to the County Sheriff's Office to Telemundo 51.
The agents responded to the call shortly after 11:00 p.m. and found Bentley with gunshot wounds at the establishment located near Northwest 27th Avenue and 108th Street, in the vicinity of the North Campus of Miami Dade College.
The county rescue units transported him in critical condition to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
According to the preliminary investigation, it all started with a verbal argument between Bentley and another man who was at the establishment.
The situation escalated when the suspect pulled out a firearm, shot the victim, and fled the area before the officers arrived.
Bentley's mother confirmed to local media that her 18-year-old son was the victim of the shooting.
At the time of this edition's closing, the suspect had not been publicly identified, and no arrests had been announced.
Authorities noted that there were numerous witnesses present at the scene at the time of the shooting, which could be crucial for clarifying the case.
The Homicide Unit of the MDSO, led by Detective V. Maduro, is conducting the investigation and is requesting the public's assistance.

The police flyer circulated by the authorities warns that "if the information leads to the arrest of the person or persons involved, the individual providing the tip may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000."
The crime occurred on the eve of Halloween, a day with high traffic in fast food establishments, and adds to a series of recent violent incidents in the metropolitan area: a man was shot dead during a dispute at a business in Medley in mid-October, and a 17-year-old was killed in Allapattah on September 20.
The pattern that repeats in these cases—verbal disputes escalating to fatal shootings in public and commercial spaces—keeps county authorities on high alert.
