A Cuban girl has touched hearts on social media with a request she made to her father, who lives in the United States, through a security camera set up in their home in Cuba. The little girl took advantage of the device to send him a very special message, showing that distance does not stop her from sharing her small wishes with him.

In the video shared on TikTok by the account @alex_la_calidad, the little girl is seen speaking directly to the camera, as if she were having a face-to-face conversation with her father.

Her request is quite simple: she wants her dad to buy her some cookies that she liked a lot. But what makes the scene particularly endearing is that the little girl hurriedly clarifies that he doesn't have to buy them for her right away.

"When you can, it doesn't have to be now, could you buy them for me? I really liked them," she says with a sweetness that has not gone unnoticed by those who have seen the images.

The naturalness with which he speaks, and especially his way of making it clear that he can wait, turns a child's request into one of those moments that can move anyone.

The video has accumulated over 196,000 views and 15,000 "likes," according to the figures collected in the original post.

Security cameras have become a way for many emigrated Cubans to maintain daily contact with their relatives on the island. Thanks to these devices, parents, children, and grandparents can see and communicate with each other despite the kilometers that separate them.

In May, another Cuban resident in the United States shared how he managed to feel closer to his mother in Cuba thanks to a security camera, a story that also stirred emotions on social media.

Family separation remains a reality for many Cubans, especially in a context of migration restrictions. The Migration Policy Institute has addressed the difficulties and changes in migration pathways for Cubans, a situation that affects families spread between the island and the United States.

Social media has also been the stage for emotional reunions between parents and children in Cuba, stories that reflect how much the distance weighs when it comes to loved ones.

On this occasion, there was no reunion or big surprises. It was just a little girl speaking in front of a camera, a pair of earrings that made her happy, and a phrase that was as simple as it was moving: "When you can, it doesn’t have to be now."

The author of the video accompanied the images with a brief dedication: "I love her and her light."
