A Cuban girl living in Spain was in for the surprise of her life when, upon opening what she thought was an Arabic perfume, she discovered there was an iPhone inside. The moment was captured in a video posted on TikTok by the account @alegnis2, identified as "Alegnis cubanita," a Cuban émigré in Spain.
The 50-second clip shows the moment the girl opens the box that no one had told her held something special.
Upon seeing the phone, the girl burst into tears of joy, while the adults present laughed and celebrated her reaction.
In the audio, the person recording can be heard saying, "Dad, Dad," inviting him to come up on stage, "come on, even I'm crying."
The description of the video confirms that the iPhone was a wish that the girl had specifically requested: "The wish she asked for and had fulfilled."
The author of the clip uses the hashtags #cubanosporeuropa and #miprincesahermosa, related to the Cuban community living in Europe and the familial nature of the video.
Hiding a gift inside the box of another product is a technique used in surprise videos shared on social media to capture the recipient's reaction.
The video adds to other recently shared content by emigrated Cubans that showcase emotional moments of gifts, surprises, and family reunions.
Recently, several clips of this kind have been shared, such as that of a Cuban mother who surprised her daughter at school, as well as a surprise sent to a mother in Cuba and a family that unexpectedly arrived at a party.
These videos showcase moments of affection, gifts, and family reunions featuring Cubans, both on the island and abroad.
"My beautiful princess, we love you," wrote the video's creator alongside the clip, capturing the emotion of the moment in just a few words.
