The U.S. dollar continues its unstoppable rise in the informal currency market in Cuba, and this Wednesday, November 4, 2026, it reaches 914 Cuban pesos (CUP).
At 10:00 a.m. (Cuban local time), the greenback reaches its highest value in the last 30 days and accumulates an increase of 64 pesos in just one week, confirming a bullish trend that shows no signs of slowing down.
The euro also rises, hovering around 995 pesos, while the Free Convertible Currency (MLC) reaches 692 CUP.
Summary of exchange rates
- Exchange rate of the dollar USD to CUP: 914 CUP.
- Exchange rate of the euro EUR to CUP: 995 CUP.
- Exchange rate from MLC to CUP: 692 CUP.
The dollar is at its highest in the last 30 days
The dollar increased by nine pesos compared to the previous day, when it was at 905 CUP.
Its current quotation is the highest in the last 30 days, during which it registered a minimum of 768 CUP.
Exchange Rate Evolution
The weekly increase amounts to 7.5%. Expanding the comparison to 30 days, the price has risen from 771 to 914 pesos, an increase of 143 pesos, although this variation may partially reflect adjustments in the index methodology.
The euro, indicative but on the rise
The euro is currently around 995 Cuban pesos (CUP), up from 990 in the previous session, representing a gain of five pesos.
Given that it is a currency with limited data in this time frame, the value should be considered indicative.
In any case, the trend is consistent with the rest of the market: a week ago, the euro was trading at 936 pesos, and 30 days ago it was at 875 pesos.
The figures represent increases during those periods of 6.3% and 13.7%, respectively, with the same methodological caution applicable to the monthly comparison.
The euro surpasses the dollar by 81 pesos, solidifying its position as the most expensive currency in the Cuban parallel market.
The MLC is also on the rise with limited data
La MLC registers today an indicative value of 692 Cuban pesos (CUP), compared to 678 from the previous day, which represents an increase of 14 pesos, equivalent to a rise of 2.1%.
Like the euro, this figure should be taken with caution due to the low volume of transactions available in this range.
In the last week, the MLC has risen by 92 pesos from the 600 CUP it was at seven days ago, representing a 15.3% increase.
Without physical existence, its use is limited to the state-run businesses that accept it, which restricts its circulation in comparison to cash currencies.
The gap with the official rate is growing wider
The official exchange rate set by the Central Bank of Cuba (Segment III), established today at 781 CUP per dollar and 874 CUP per euro, remains significantly below the values that prevail in daily practice in the informal currency market.
The difference between the official and informal exchange rates now reaches 133 pesos for the dollar and 121 pesos for the euro, a gap that illustrates the disparity between the formal economy and the reality faced by Cubans.
In the last month, the official dollar rate has increased from 695 to 781 CUP, but the informal market has surged much faster, widening the gap instead of narrowing it.
In a scenario of sustained inflation, low state wages, and increasing partial dollarization of the economy, rises in the informal exchange rate can drive up prices and diminish the purchasing power of Cubans.
