The Cuban influencer Anna Sofía Benítez Silvente, Anna Bensi, shared a spiritual reflection this Tuesday on Facebook about the year she has lived with her mother Caridad Silvente. The young woman acknowledged having faced difficulties and injustices she never imagined, but reaffirmed her trust in God as support for both of them.

"It’s no secret that this past year has been quite chaotic for my mom and me. Many difficulties, many injustices, and experiences I never imagined I would live through. But you know what? In each of those situations, God was glorified. And I know He will continue to do so," she wrote.

The message, accompanied by a photograph of two birds perched together on a branch that the young woman took from her bedroom window, arrived just over a month after the People's Municipal Court of Havana East sentenced Anna and her mother, Caridad Silvente, to two years of restricted freedom each.

The image of the birds was the starting point of her reflection: it led her to think of the biblical passage that states that if God cares for the birds, how much more will He care for people. Without explicitly mentioning the legal process, Anna described God as the one who sustains them daily and who provides through those He chooses as instruments of blessing.

"We have testimonies from these last months that few would believe. But that is how God is. All we can do is trust and obey. We will not allow anything or anyone to take away our joy, peace, and faith in Him," she pointed out.

The case of both began in March 2026, when they recorded and shared on social media the visit of an agent from the Ministry of the Interior who came to their home in Alamar to deliver a citation from State Security. The agent filed a complaint, and the file, initially archived, was reopened in July of that year.

Before the trial, Anna declared, “The trial will not be fair, but I have a just God.” Upon learning the verdict, she responded with a brief, “God is in control.” Days later, in a video, she appeared with her head held high and her convictions stronger than ever, according to her own words, and called for freedom for political prisoners and for Cuba.

In her post this Tuesday, Anna invited her followers to open their hearts to Jesus Christ and described the peace that, according to her, is felt when trusting in God even in the most challenging times. "All we can do is trust and obey. We will not let anything or anyone take away our joy, tranquility, and faith in Him," she wrote.

The message concluded with a quote from the Gospel of Matthew: "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" (Matthew 6:26).
