Diana Lisbeth Fonseca Domínguez and Anailay Noelia González Reyes, two Cuban teenagers whose disappearance was reported in October, were found alive in Havana, as confirmed on Tuesday by the Gender Observatory of Alas Tensas (OGAT).
The organization was able to verify the news directly with the family of one of the girls and declared the #AlertaYeniset closed, which had been activated at the time to promote the search.
"Diana and Noelia, reported missing in October 2026, have been located and are safe," reported Alas Tensas on Facebook.
"OGAT announces the alert is now closed and thanks everyone who contributed to its dissemination," concluded the organization.
Both had been last seen on October 5, when they left a home in the Camilo Cienfuegos neighborhood in Havana East at around 9:00 a.m., and were later spotted near the bridge at 100 and Boyeros.
The public alert was issued on October 8 following a post by Yusy Domínguez, Diana's mother, who noted that her daughter and her friend had been missing for several days.
The relatives reported the disappearance of the two young women to the Cuban police authorities, although they did not issue any public statement regarding the case or provide any updates on the search.
The resolution of the case occurred on the same day that another young Cuban, Amanda Pérez, 18 years old, was found alive in Bayamo after having been reported missing.
The discovery of Diana and Noelia highlights the work of independent civil organizations in the absence of a state system for locating missing persons in Cuba, equivalent to the Amber Alert found in other countries.
The #AlertaYeniset was created by OGAT and the platform Yo Sí Te Creo en Cuba —closed last April—, following the disappearance of Yeniset Rojas Pérez in March 2022, and since then it has served as an informal mechanism for disseminating information on social media regarding missing women in Cuba.
According to data from OGAT, between January and August 2026, the organization monitored 22 individuals reported missing on the Island, including eight minors.
