«They just called me.» With those words, the Cuban Zulema Castell announced that her daughter, Karla Rodríguez, reported missing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, had been located and was hospitalized. The news came after the mother desperately sought help on social media to find the young woman.

The woman confirmed the finding in a Facebook post, in which she thanked the many people who were concerned for her daughter and shared the missing persons alert.

"I want to thank so many friends who have shown concern and have kept my daughter in their thoughts and prayers, I just received a call that she is hospitalized in the psychiatric ward," Castell wrote.

"I want to thank everyone again from the bottom of my heart," she added, accompanying her message with a red heart.

The mother did not specify in her second message which hospital her daughter is in, how she was located, or the circumstances that led to her hospitalization. She also did not mention whether she had been able to meet with her in person at the time of posting the thank you message.

The news was also confirmed by Dayi Vázquez, who claimed to be someone very close to the family and mentioned that Karla was safe and under medical evaluation.

"THANK YOU CIBERCUBA... SHE HAS APPEARED, SAFE AND SOUND, GOD WILLING, NOW SHE IS BEING EVALUATED BY SPECIALISTS IN A HOSPITAL", Vázquez wrote in a comment.

"I am a sister friend of her mother; the girl is like a beloved niece to me. Thank you, thank you all, your faith united us," she added, visibly grateful for the support received during the search.

Hours earlier, the mother had turned to the community's solidarity in an attempt to locate Karla, of whom she hadn't heard since Saturday night, as she explained in her initial message.

"I am asking everyone to spread this post, my daughter Karla Rodríguez disappeared on Saturday the 18th at night," Castell expressed in .

The woman explained that her daughter was going through a health crisis and detailed the clothes she was wearing when she left the house: a t-shirt shown in the shared photograph, black shorts, and black flip-flops.

Castell noted that the family resides in Fort Lauderdale and urged anyone who might have information to contact the Police.

“I ask you to share this information. Grateful are some desperate parents,” he wrote in his initial appeal.

The publication reflected the family's concern over the lack of news about the young woman's whereabouts, especially given the vulnerability she was facing, according to her mother, at the time she disappeared.

In Florida, other Cuban families have also turned to social media to ask for help when a loved one goes missing. In some cases, these searches have ended with the person being located, although the circumstances have varied.

In May, the Cuban truck driver Marcelo H. Corvalán was found alive in a hospital in Orlando after being missing for more than 48 hours while transporting goods. At that time, the circumstances surrounding his disappearance had not been clarified.

Two months later, the Cuban Francisco Camejo was found safe and sound after four days without his family knowing his whereabouts.

His loved ones had launched a search that included calls to hospitals, jails, and other places where they hoped to find information.
