A Cuban resident in the United States ended up venting on TikTok after visiting Hialeah, one of the cities with the highest Cuban presence in South Florida. What he found during his visit was far from amusing: roosters and hens roaming the streets, issues with driving, and areas flooded by the rain.
The man, who shared his experience in a video posted on the TikTok account @cubanito_leunam8810, made it clear from the beginning that Hialeah is not among his favorite places.
"I can't stand this Hialeah, I apologize to those who like it, but I have nothing to do with Hialeah in any way; I don't like it," he expressed bluntly.
According to what he said, he had come to the city solely to resolve a personal matter, but the experience ended up becoming a reason for complaint.
"I happen to be here to take care of some errands, and just to tell you that I don't even know how to drive in Hialeah, that says it all—the streets are extremely complicated," he asserted.
However, what caught his attention the most was encountering roosters and hens walking peacefully down the streets, a scene he compared to life in the countryside.
"A flurry of roosters on every corner, with loose chickens, as if I were on a farm, in the countryside," he commented, visibly surprised by the scene.
And as if that weren't enough, the floods, which he reported occur when it rains, also did not escape criticism.
"Three drops fall and that's like a flowing river," he asserted, before complaining that the water "only messes up all the cars."
Flooding is precisely one of the issues that affects various areas of Hialeah. Recently, the National Weather Service issued a watch for flood risk in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach, following several episodes of heavy rain in South Florida.
The video of the Cuban garnered over 29,000 views, 899 likes, and hundreds of comments, capturing the interest of numerous TikTok users.
Hialeah, known for its large Cuban community, has been the subject of other humorous posts on social media. In December 2024, for example, a group of Cubans made internet users laugh with a parody of "a typical day in Hialeah", recreating everyday situations in the city.
This time, the protagonist of the video didn't need to prepare any parody: he simply recounted what he saw during his visit to make it clear that, at least for now, Hialeah has not managed to win him over.
