A birthday surprise turned into an unforgettable moment for a Cuban mother. Her daughter, the Cuban-American Cindy Forte, unexpectedly appeared at her house in Cuba with a bouquet of flowers and a promise fulfilled: not to let her spend another birthday without her.

The emotional reunion, shared on TikTok, shows the mother's reaction upon discovering that her daughter was right in front of her. Amid cries of joy, she ran to embrace her, creating a scene filled with love and happiness.

Both embraced in a long hug while in the background, “Cómo te pago,” the well-known song by Lenier Mesa dedicated to mothers, played, adding music to a very special moment for the two.

Along with the video, Cindy shared some words that reflect how important it was for her to keep that promise: “I promised you that you would never spend a birthday alone without me. I love you, my dear mom. Happy birthday.”

The young woman accompanied the post with a brief phrase that summed it all up: "An unforgettable day."

It is not the first time that Cindy Forte has shared moments related to her trips to the island on social media. In January 2025, she documented her family's return to Cuba after 24 years of absence, a trip that also caught attention on social media due to an incident with the Revolutionary National Police at a checkpoint.

The song that accompanied this new reunion also has a special story. "Cómo te pago," by Lenier Mesa, surpassed 100 million views on YouTube and received a platinum record in February 2023, becoming one of the most emotional tracks of the Cuban artist.

Family surprises featuring Cubans living outside the island often evoke strong emotions on social media, especially when they coincide with birthdays and other important dates.

In July of this year, another Cuban surprised her mother in Cuba on her birthday after four years without seeing each other, in a video that garnered nearly 13,400 views in less than 24 hours.

A similar scene took place in September when a son returned unexpectedly to celebrate his mother's birthday after four years apart. The heartfelt video surpassed 77,800 views and received over 10,200 "likes".

In Cindy's case, all it took were some flowers, an unexpected visit, and a hug to give her mother the birthday she had longed to share with her.
