An elderly Cuban became the star of one of the most emotional moments on social media this week after content creator Yeison López posted a reel in which his grandfather describes, with infinite tenderness, what the perfect woman would be like. The man's response moved thousands on Instagram.
In just 29 seconds, the grandfather lists the requirements for that ideal woman while looking at a picture on his phone, adding the traits he considers necessary: that she be a little plump, have fuller feet and arms, know how to make sweets, and cook well. But the unexpected twist comes when he himself says that he doesn’t resemble her, referring to his wife of over 30 years, Yolanda.
"She is bald, and Yolanda is not bald; Yolanda has plenty of hair. And for her to have a bunch of grandchildren like Yolanda, some older, some younger, and for them all to love me," said the elderly man in the video.
The message was immediate for those who saw it: the perfect woman was not an abstract ideal, but rather their lifelong wife.
The grandfather's description turned out to be a declaration of love. Every trait he mentioned as a requirement was, in fact, a trait of Yolanda.
The comments on the video quickly echoed this sentiment. "The perfect woman is his. Touché. I loved it!" wrote one user. Another noted, "Instead of thinking of an imaginary perfect woman, he thought of his wife, who was perfect for him." Some were more straightforward: "That's a real man" and "There's nothing to create. God made her for him. How wonderful!"
One comment summed up what many felt: "That's why relationships lasted many years, because of men with very clear thinking." "He already has the perfect woman," concluded another.
Yeison López, the creator behind the video and grandson of the man, is known for documenting the daily lives of rural Cuban communities, particularly in the province of Artemisa, and for organizing solidarity actions for people in vulnerable situations. His account has over 600,000 followers on Instagram.
This is not the first time Yeison has generated a wave of excitement on social media. Recently, he starred in another story that moved thousands, when he gifted a horse to a farmer who had his oxen stolen.
