Ian Padrón was born on March 14, 1976, in Havana.
Film director and screenwriter. Son of Juan Padrón, known especially for the animated series Elpidio Valdés. Graduated from the Faculty of Film, Radio, and Television at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA). He began collaborating with scripts for Zunzún and the Filminutos of ICAIC. He produced the making of the film by Arturo Sotto Amor vertical (1997). He has produced numerous documentaries: Luis Carbonell: después de tanto tiempo (2001), Eso que anda (about Juan Formell and Los Van Van) (2009), and the best-known of all, Fuera de Liga (2003) about baseball, Cuba's national sport. Since 2010, he has been the host of the radio program "De mañana" on the station Radio Taíno. He has directed galas and concerts featuring key figures in the Cuban music scene such as Los Van Van and Beatriz Márquez. He has also directed music videos and commercials. In 2011, he premiered his first fictional feature film Habanastation. Since February 2015, he has been residing in the United States.
