
Ian Padrón was born on March 14, 1976, in Havana.
Director and screenwriter. Son of Juan Padrón, known especially for the animated series Elpidio Valdés. Graduated from the Film, Radio, and Television Faculty at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA).
He began by collaborating on scripts for Zunzún and the Filminutos of ICAIC. He produced the making-of for the film by Arturo Sotto, Amor vertical (1997).
He has produced numerous documentaries: Luis Carbonell: después de tanto tiempo (2001), Eso que anda (about Juan Formell and Los Van Van) (2009), and the most well-known of all, Fuera de Liga (2003), about baseball, Cuba's national sport.
Since 2010, he has been the presenter of the radio program "De mañana" on Radio Taíno.
He has directed galas and concerts featuring key figures in the Cuban music scene such as Los VanVan and Beatriz Márquez. He has also directed music videos and commercials.
In 2011, he premiered his first feature film, Habanastation.
Since February 2015, he has been residing in the United States.
