Rigondeaux defeats Mexican Delgado by knockout in the first round

The Cuban boxer gave no option in his first fight after the defeat against Lomachenko.

Guillermo Rigondeaux He fulfilled the predictions and defeated the Mexican Giovanni Delgado (16-9, 9 knockouts) in the fight that took place this Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The Cuban boxer certified his victory by knockout in the first round, on his return to the ring after thedefeat he suffered against the Ukrainian Lomachenko in December 2017.

A left hook from the Island fighter sent the Aztec fighter to the canvas. The Cuban's victory was accomplished in just three minutes.

Rigondeaux already warned in the final stretch of his preparation of the ambition he presents in this new stage. His return comes at the hands of Ronnie Shields, his new coach.

The Cuban fighter also made it clear that his only objective is to recover the titles, at the same timeHe sent a message to his opponents.

"I have never left and I am at my weight where I am the champion," he warned.

Yesterday against Delgado he took the first step to recover the lost ground.
