After four days in prison, the Cuban authorities have once again detained the artist Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, within the framework of the Havana Biennial that takes place from April 12 to May 12.

The arrest was reported on the social network Facebook by activist and producer Michel Matos. "THEY ARE ATTACKING US EVERY DAY AND EVERY HOUR, right now after arresting and releasing Amaury they are taking Luis Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara away again!!! This is police harassment in a dictatorship, it has no other name!!! Remember everyone, we we will also remember!!!", he wrote.

It is the third time this week that Alcántara has been arrested. "It is constant repression!! It is daily, they want to break our wills!! But they are lost in the darkness!! We are free!!!!!", he added.

The young artist has been harassed by the Cuban political police within the framework of the Biennial, for his work called "Se USA", which consists of distributing North American flags among boys from his neighborhood of San Isidro, in Havana, so that they run with them, in reference to the protest carried out by the Cuban opponent Daniel Llorente on May 1, 2017 in the Plaza de la Revolución.

When he left prison yesterday,Alcántara told Radio Martíthat he will sue the State, since "it is illegal for me to be imprisoned for four days. I am going to file a complaint with the Cuban State because I was arrested without charges. Running with the Cuban flag has supposedly been a crime since recently, but the ban on running with the American flag does not say so in any law.
