The mother of the political prisoner Andy Garcia Lorenzo regrets having believed in justice Cuban and assures that nothing will be able to silence her to demand the freedom of his son, imprisoned for demonstrating 11J in the city of Saint Clare, in the province of Villa Clara.
“Facebook asks me what are you thinking about?” I think about how many injustices are committed every day, how many criminals on the loose, murderers, rapists enjoying total immunity and you, yes Andy, my son, imprisoned in the dungeons unjustly (…) I also think about how naive we were when we believed that with a lawyer justice would be done, that the truth would triumph and that they would be free, because there is no crime in them, only fabricated charges," he noted in your profile from the Tahirí Lorenzo Prado social network.
He also said that he thought “about how many mothers are suffering right now, how many children without their fathers and mothers, how many marriages are separated and many of us remain silent, many of us cry in silence and from deep inside a scream comes out that tears the depths of the soul. Yes, it is the cry of FREEDOM and now they force us to remain silent.”
“(…) I think about how cowardly we were, yes, because our children are imprisoned and we here, when we should have all gone in together and gotten them out of there, faced a gunshot, because it is preferable to die trying than to let them die in there” , added the troubled mother of the young Cuban political prisoner in her publication.
Likewise, he assured that “I am in battle, I will never leave him alone. There is no Penal Code, no summons, no threats like those received these days, nothing they can invent will be able to silence me, I am still standing and with more strength than ever. My cry continues and will be heard louder every day.”
“What was his crime? Make use of your constitutional right to freedom of expression, but of course, we forget that in Cuba there are no rights,” added Tayri Lorenzo in another publication on her social network.
At the end of November, his sister, Roxana García Lorenzo, also reported that The young man is being a victim of psychological torture, beatings, and mistreatment in the work camp where he is held.
In a Facebook post, Roxana stated that after almost a year and a half of imprisonment for her participation in the popular protests of July 11, 2021 (#11J), the abuse against her 24-year-old brother has not stopped.

Last October, Tahirí Lorenzo Prado also denounced harassment by prison guards against her son during his last hunger strike and warned the repressive forces that she would not allow "one more torture."
"What do you think, that he has immunity, that they can hit Andy like that because they feel like it, that they can drag him around a cell, make him the laughing stock of everyone, with a mattress on top, like he was a dog?" , questioned this visibly affected mother, in a direct message shared on Facebook.
Lorenzo related that, during his last hunger strike, Andy was pushed to the floor by his head. and dragged across the floor of a cell by prison guards.
The young man from Santa Clara was sentenced in April to four years of deprivation of liberty for his participation in the anti-government outbreak of July 11, 2021, a sanction that was modified to an open regime on May 31.
However, he was subsequently detained again to be sent to a forced labor camp under internal regime, and then sent back to prison.
They are sister and other relatives They have suffered strong harassment from the Cuban regime because of their complaints on networks.
