The Cuban boxerYordenis Ugás He revealed that he had an appointment with the doctor who operated on his right eye, and that it continues to improve more and more.
"Thank God my eye is fine, my eye pressure is fine. That eye of mine came out to the owner, a warrior, a brave man. At the beginning of the surgery they told me that I was going to need glasses, now they tell me no. They are behind meeight months of pain, pressure, double vision, and I still have 20-20 of my vision," he said on his wallFacebook.
Ugás, who suffered serious injuries to his eye during thefight against the American Errol Spence, last April, thanked his doctor and the medical staff of theBascom Palmer Eye Institute, and assured that he is not training yet.
"My team has no problem with me. I am calm and grateful and the night I return to boxing, with God's favor I will do so as one of the best welterweights in the world. Those who hate me, who surely many wanted me to stay one-eyed, I'm sorry, they're screwed," he concluded.
Last September, the boxer announced that heI had begun to dream about the path of returning to boxing, since his injured eye showed notable improvement and the doctors authorized him to train full-time, without restrictions.
"It has been a difficult process, looking at double things, with pain, but I was never angry, nor in a bad temper, because I am a warrior and this was a wound that I have carried with pride (sometimes you have to be willing to die for what that you love)," he said then.
Ugás related that the day he was operated on, the doctors at theBascom Palmer Eye Institute They told him: "We know who you are, we don't want anyone to see you," and after the intervention they took him to a room where he was alone, surrounded by attention, and not to the general recovery room.
"Now all my fans, the people who support me and especially my Cuban community, which is my great motivation, can begin to dream about the path of return. Bring me the best 147-pounder that is available. I just want to continue giving great fights," he sentenced.
