Robledo also reported that 491 Cuban doctors are currently working in 11 Mexican states, in places very difficult and marginal.
He also said that these help provide coverage every day and at all hours in the hospitals where they are located.
He also highlighted that the island's doctors provide their services in remote places, where for many years there was no medical coverage, until collaboration with Cuba became effective through the Ministry of Health, after signing a work agreement last July.
The director of the National Social Security Institute added that there were no medical specialties where the island's doctors work before, as they are areas of very difficult coverage for internal medicine, pediatrics, cardiology, ENT, trauma, orthopedics, hemophilia, anesthesia and emergencies. , among other.
Likewise, he recalled that the international call to recruit doctors from different parts of the world is still maintained and that 994 doctors from numerous countries responded to it, including Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador and the United States.
Last September, President López Obrador promised that he will continue hiring Cuban doctors in his country and that in a few months there will be free healthcare for all Mexicans.
On that occasion, the president explained that the universalization of health services in Mexico had already begun and that they had Cuban personnel for this.
“Health is being federalized. It will be guaranteed, it is my commitment, it is quite a challenge, but by the middle of next year we will have a quality, universal, free health system throughout Mexico."said López Obrador.
Regarding the Cuban doctors, he highlighted their presence in the country and insisted that he would bring others, even if it bothered political opponents.
“We are not going to stop thanking the people and the government of Cuba because Cuban doctors and specialists are working in the hospital in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, as they are doing in other hospitals in Nayarit, in Colima”, said.

Robledo, during a conference by the Mexican president, said that the salary of the Cuban doctors would be the only case that he was going to process in communication with the aforementioned organizations, with which the collaboration agreement had been signed.
However, the Mexican official clarified that 83 Venezuelan specialists, 21 Colombians, 14 Nicaraguans, 12 Bolivians, 8 Ecuadorians, 6 Peruvians and 25 from other nationalities such as the United States, Paraguay and Argentina, hired for one year in 54 hospitals in disadvantaged areas, They were going to directly receive 53,569 pesos per month (around $2,600).
