A Cuban cultural promoter suffered a brutal assault by two criminals last Friday in Havana, in another event that highlights the escalation of violence and insecurity in Cuba.

The victim was this time Ismael Jaramillo, who received a fierce beating after a robbery, at dawn on September 1st, in the middle of 23rd and G, in Vedado, according to the actor's complaint Daniel Martin Subiaut in .

“This man full of light, named Ismael Jaramillo, was returning from visiting his elderly parents in Cienfuegos during that dawn on September 1st (6:30 am), at 23rd and G. In the heart of Vedado, he was assaulted by two criminals "That, after robbing him, they beat him until he was left for dead," Subiaut said in his post, which he documented with photos that show the merciless beating.

The images show the serious injuries that the criminals inflicted Jaramillo on the head and face, and that they endangered his life.

The actor said in his publication that Jaramillo regained consciousness at the Calixto García Hospital “where he has been successfully treated,” and although “he can speak,” he lamented that “he has a long way to go to be well.”

The multiple sutures on the head and one eyebrow, in addition to the bruises, attest to the severity of the attack and the long recovery that the victim must face.

“As far as I know, these potential murderers have not been caught, I do not know if there is an open investigation. And yes, I want to know," he stated in his publication, in which he revealed that he has known the cultural promoter since his adolescence and considers him "a loving person."

Subiaut explained that he made his publication for two reasons. The first of them “spiritual: May we send the best energy for your speedy recovery”; and the second, to report.

“What has been done to capture these aggressors?” he asked. “Before it was Ismael, tomorrow it could be your dad. If it happens at 23rd and G (where there have to be cameras) and they were not caught, what can we expect for other places?”

“My message goes with the good faith that we will continue following that trail, to avoid what happened to him in others,” the Cuban actor expressed hopefully.
