"Sudden floods are reported in areas of the capital's Vedado, due to the heavy rains that affect the West,"reported the communicator Yacer Domínguez Padrón on his Facebook profile.
"Pending this complex situation that will move to other areas of the west and center," warned meteorological observer Raydel Ruisánchez.

In itsEarly Warning Notice No. 2, at 1:00 p.m., the Institute of Meteorology of Cuba (INSMET) indicated that "the extensive area of clouds with showers, rains and thunderstorms in the western Caribbean Sea remains disorganized," while "it has decreased in recent hours the probability of any tropical cyclonic development as it moves northeast near Jamaica.
However, he warned that, "for the moment, it continues to be the most significantthe rains that could be strong and intense in the eastern region of Cuba, Haiti and the Dominican Republic from Friday the 17th to Sunday the 19th".
"For this reason, close surveillance is maintained on this system, due to the saturation of the soil due to the locally intense rains that occurred in previous days and attention must be paid to the mountainous areas of the east of the country, especially in the provinces of Holguín. , Santiago de Cuba and Guantanamo," INSMET noted.
The Civil Defense issued an alert this Wednesday for heavy rains in the center of the island, through which he called on the population to stay informed about the weather situation and comply with the guidelines of the authorities.
Based on the models of the INSMET Forecast Center, the statement indicated that in the next few hours there will be a high probability of precipitation, associated with a trough and a low pressure system with an extensive area of clouds with showers, rains and thunderstorms.
This situation will affect the national territory, especially the northern coast of the central region from Matanzas to Ciego de Ávila.
