Cuban shot dead by police in Spain while vandalizing cars

The Cuban, 34 years old, was born in Havana and was a Spanish citizen. He died when he tried to attack an agent with an iron bar.

A Cuban resident in Spain was shot dead by the police when tried to attack an officer with an iron bar in a confrontation in which the agent used a taser gun that did not neutralize him.

The incident occurred on Monday shortly before 10:30 am in a field located in an industrial estate in La Coruña, Galicia.

As reported The voice of Galicia, the subject had caused several incidents around the city and when the police tried to arrest him he was very violent.

The man, identified as Henry C. C., was born in Havana and was 34 years old. He had Spanish citizenship and his official residence was in Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid.

According to witnesses, he was banging on the windows of cars on the street to steal what was inside. He had previously tried to do the same thing at ATMs and got into an altercation at a gas station.

Described as a large individual, he resisted arrest. The agent used his taser gun to neutralize him, but the electric shock had no effect due to the large amount of clothing he was wearing. Then the police officer pulled out his gun and stopped him again.

The subsequent investigation showed that the Cuban had a criminal record and was considered an aggressive person. He had been admitted to the hospital days ago due to a street incident.

He lived in Madrid until three months ago. He had apparent mental health problems and his relatives had reported him missing.

The National Police will carry out an internal investigation to find out the details of the incident, as should be done every time an officer fires his weapon.
