The Electrical Union of Cuba (UNE) reported the disconnection of the national electroenergy system (SEN) of the Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric plant in Matanzas for 3 days for maintenance.
“At 3:40 p.m. “The CTE Antonio Guiteras goes off line to clean the regenerative air heaters and solve minor defects for a period of 72 hours,”reported the UNE.
Guiteras had left the SEN for the last time in mid-December, also for 3 days.
At the beginning of December, directors of GuiterasThey announced a stoppage of the plant in order to make “corrections”. The departure was planned for the moment when Felton unit 1, which was under maintenance, had synchronized with the SEN.
Blackouts have not disappeared from the daily routine of Cubans, who with luck see two or three days go by without suffering power outages.
