After four days with blackouts in Cuba due to capacity deficit of generation, apparently This Friday the population will "rest" from the electricity cuts, according to him part of the Electrical Union (UNE).

After a Thursday when There was no service for three and a half hours (from 5:40 pm to 9:12 pm), with the maximum impact of 149 MW at 8:00 pm, this day could pass without blackouts, if the expected conditions are maintained.

However, the UNE clarifies that "There is a risk when the SEN is operating with a low reserve."

This Friday, at 7:00 am, the availability of the national electroenergy system (SEN) was 2250 MW and the demand was 1980 MW, with all the load served, so No effects are expected due to a deficit in generation capacity during daytime hours..

During peak hours, the entry of unit 2 of the Santa Cruz thermoelectric plant with 60 MW and the Regla patana with 65 MW is estimated, the recovery of 200 MW in distributed generation plants that are out for fuel and the entry of distributed generation engines that are awaiting maintenance and are authorized for use with 80 MW.

If this forecast is fulfilled, an availability of 2655 MW and a maximum demand of 2600 MW are announced for the peak consumption hours, for a reserve of 55 MW, so if the expected conditions are maintained, no impact on the service is expected.

At this moment they are out of service due to breakdown, one unit 2 of the CTE Felton and another of the CTE Santa Cruz (the latter is in the process of starting up and must do so during peak hours).

In addition, two blocks of the CTE Mariel and Nuevitas are under maintenance.

Due to lack of fuel, 61 distributed generation plants and the Regla plant are not operating (they must enter during peak hours), as well as the Santiago de Cuba plant, for a total of 564 MW.

The limitations on thermal generation are 482 MW.
