A total of 37 Cuban migrants were deported by the United States government, in what constitutes the first deportation flight this year and the tenth since returns resumed last year.
According to the American Embassy in Havana, the plane arrived this Thursday, January 25, in the Cuban capital with 37 citizens who tried to enter the country without authorization.
"Do not put your safety or that of your family at risk. Safe and legal travel," the entity said on its Twitter account.
Heninth deportation flight arrived at José Martí International Airport with 31 Cuban migrants last December 28.
The diplomatic representation in Havana reported on the arrival of the deported immigrants and asked Cubans not to risk their lives on irregular migration routes.
The deportees are Cubans who missed their credible fear interviews upon entering the country and received an I-220B document (deportation order), although they remained free under supervision.
HeThe previous group, with 37 Cubans, was sent back to Cuba on November 30. The flight, on a Global X plane, left the Miami airport.
The US government has reiterated that there are a series of severe measures to curb illegal migration to its country, and also insisted that those who illegally cross the US southwest border will be processed under Title 8's expedited removal powers within days.
The deportations began in April of last year. Hefirst flight organized by ICE was the largest, with 123 migrants returned on April 24.
