And group of 31 Cuban migrants arrived this Thursday at the José Martí International Airport, on the ninth deportation flight from the United States in 2023.

The US embassy in Havana reported on the arrival of the plane with the deported irregular immigrants and asked Cubans not to risk their lives on irregular migration routes.

"On December 28, a deportation flight from the United States arrived in Havana. The flight returned to the island 31 Cuban citizens who tried to enter the United States without authorization. Do not put your safety or that of your family at risk. Safe and legal travel," the diplomatic headquarters said on its social networks.

The US government recalled that there are a group of severe measures to stop illegal migration to its country.

They insist that people who illegally cross the southwestern border of the United States will be processed under Title 8's expedited removal powers within days.

These people who are detained in attempts to illegally enter will be unable to re-enter the United States for at least five years if their expulsion is ordered and this will mean that they will not be eligible to request asylum.

On November 30, the US government deported 37 Cuban migrants on the eighth flight of the type that has been carried out so far this year towards the Caribbean nation.

A few weeks before, in October, the seventh flight of repatriates took place, with a total of 27 Cuban migrants from the United States.
