The Cuban boxerYordenis Ugas Hernandez He is celebrating another year of having arrived in the United States and having started a new life, which has been marked by professional success after becoming one of the most important boxers in the North American country.
To commemorate his day, the boxer has shared a publication on his social networks in which he recounts everything he had to go through to achieve his dream of leaving the island and being able to become a sports professional on American soil.
"On a day like today I arrived in this country. I left never to return. Although at one point I returned. This country is the best in the world for me. Always thank America for the freedom and opportunity"Yordenis began his writing by thanking the United States for welcoming him and giving him the opportunity to start from scratch.
About what his tough journey was like after leaving Cuba, Yordenis said:"I spent two days on a boat at sea and then crossed Mexico from end to end. Then I went almost 9 years without seeing my mother. It was all to pursue a dream, which cost and has cost a lot of blood, sweat and tears, but Thank God we have accomplished it and our character was strengthened forever.".
As a faithful defender of freedom and always against the Cuban dictatorship, the boxer, who declares himself a great fighter inside and outside the ring, launched a message reminding all his followers to never forget the regime that He made his people and his country abandon him.
"I have been a fighter below and above the ring and from day one I have always been a critic against the dictatorship. Each one of us Cubans has a little story. That is why I always tell my Cuban brothers, never forget who voted you out of your country. Never forget who made you cross borders or throw you into the sea. Never forget who oppresses and humiliates part of your family, your neighbors and your friends.", he added.
To conclude, Yordenis showed the great pride he feels in himself after seeing today everything he has achieved with his perseverance, dedication and sacrifice:
"Tomorrow I hope that no other fighter has to emigrate to become a professional. I am proud to be part of a small group that lives some of the words of Our Apostle José Martí about traveling to Cuba. Going to see so much disgrace. Go to so much shame, others can, we cannot. Good night, God, Homeland, Life, Freedom.", he concluded.
