Patients wait hours for their hemodialysis due to lack of clean sheets at a hospital in Santiago de Cuba

Cubans with serious health problems denounced theirregularities in the hemodialysis service at the Juan Bruno Zayas Clinical Surgical Hospital in Santiago de Cuba, due to the lack of clean sheets.

The case was exposed by the journalistYosmany Mayeta Labrada, who published on his profileFacebook photos of the installation.

According to what the family of one of the patients admitted to the hemodialysis room told him on Tuesday, they have to wait hours for their treatment since theThe sheets are dirty and there is no way to sanitize them since the washing machine broke.

"They cannot be mounted on the machine due to lack of sheets and the answer is thatthe laundry is broken. WhoThe solution to this problem is the shift patients who come in in the afternoon."says the text.

Since there are no clean sheets to make the beds, what the hospital staff does is keep them unmade until they are washed. Meanwhile, patients are still waiting to get on the hemodialysis machine and start the procedure.

According to the testimony, on Tuesday, when night came, the problem had been partially solved, but this situation is constant at the facility.
