Díaz-Canel wishes Putin success in his invasion of Ukraine

The designated Cuban leader met in Moscow with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.


The Cuban ruler Miguel Diaz-Canel, what He was visiting Russia since May 7, declared in a joint meeting with the president Vladimir Putin, his wish for success in invasion of Ukraine.

Within the framework of the meeting, Díaz-Canel commented on the military operations in Ukraine and showed his support for the Russian side, in what he stated was a campaign of “geopolitical manipulation” by the United States.

According to WHICH, the designated Caribbean leader, who took the opportunity to deliver a letter from General Raúl Castro to Putin, stressed that Russia “will always” be able to count on the support of its Cuban “friends” and “brothers,” and condemned “the threat of rapprochement of the NATO to the Russian borders.”

Díaz-Canel arrived in Russia accompanied by his wife Lisa Cuesta, the “first lady” who likes international trips, but not the national trips that the ruler makes around the island.

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, one of the objectives of this trip was to “address priorities of the bilateral agenda,” on a date when Putin assumes a new mandate at the head of Russia.

This Thursday, The Cuban delegation attended the Victory Day commemoration in Moscow, a date on which Russia celebrates the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.

Cuesta was excited on social networks after participating in the military parade, where Russia traditionally shows the world its combat arsenal.

"How many emotions are experienced from here! How great the Russian people who have marched proud of their sovereignty and courage! Down with fascism! Glory to the worthy peoples who defend their independence!" wrote an exultant one in X Lisa Cuesta.

The responses of Cubans were immediate, marked by shortages and a new wave of blackouts occurring on the island.

Regarding official support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, since last year there is evidence of the presence of Cuban mercenaries enlisted in the invading army.

Despite the government denies its participation in this type of recruitment, have not hidden their sympathy towards an event that is condemned by the international community.

They claimed to have been recruited under deception to fight in Ukrainian territory by the Russian army, and after that "they were scammed."
