A large group of motorcyclists in Santiago de Cuba gathered on Sunday in front of the San Juan Methodist Church, located near the central Céspedes Park, to worship and praise God.
Pastor Darlon Bermúdez was the initiator of the initiative and was in charge of blessing all the vehicles that their owners parked on the street in front of the church. Following him, a parishioner anointed the motorcycles.
Sunday worship service, 4:00 pm, this time we will pray for the motorcyclists of Santiago, urging them along with their motorcycles, to ask the Lord to protect them from all evil," wrote on his Facebook profile.
According to the independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, there was a special worship service held by Christians for all motorcycle drivers, following the increase in accidents in the province.
It was a glorious ceremony where the motorcycles and helmets were anointed, and prayers were offered for God to protect them from all evil and danger. Most importantly, all the motorcyclists in attendance received Jesus in their hearts as their only Savior," reported a post on Facebook cited by Mayeta on her timeline.
According to the post, it is the first time that a religion invites workers and vehicle drivers to pray for them.
