The coastal areas of Broward and Miami-Dade counties in Florida maintained a flood watch due to possible scattered rain and isolated storms, as reported by Telemundo 51.
The alert is issued due to the risk considered in low-lying areas near ponds, lakes, or channels due to rainfall.
The call has been made for residents to stay informed, after Florida was expected to receive an additional 2 to 4 inches of rain this past week.
The severe floods in South Florida caused highway closures and flight cancellations.
Despite the decrease in precipitation, some neighborhoods remain flooded in Florida.
According to Telemundo 51, Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Wilton Manors, Miami Beach, and Miami Shores accumulated over a foot of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, while North Miami, Hollywood, and Hallandale received over a foot and a half during the same period.
Likewise, the list of cities affected by the highest amount of rainfall accumulation remained as follows, with the closing date at 4:30 a.m. on Friday:
- Miami Shores: 21.66 inches
- Hallandale: 20.65 inches
- Miami: 14.29 inches
- Miami Beach: 13.90 inches
- Wilton Manors: 13.54 inches
- Fort Lauderdale: 13.69 inches
