A Cuban mother of two young children has been absent from her home in the town of El Cristo, on the outskirts of the city of Santiago de Cuba, for over 24 hours.
Relatives of Mailyn Fernández Caballero, 39, contacted independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada to bring visibility to the case.
Her cousin, Nalieyis Torres, asserts that Mailyn is mentally ill. "She had a nervous breakdown due to lack of medication, which we have been looking for but have not found."
The woman left her home very early on Wednesday morning and no one noticed.
The family tried to report the disappearance to the police, but they were told they had to wait 72 hours to file the report, so they decided to turn to social media and appeal for solidarity to find her.
Whoever sees her can call the numbers 51174450 or 55550143.
It is important to know that if someone sees her, they should not try to hold her back, as she becomes "very aggressive," warned the family members.
