"To fail a class with a five"... and other expressions used in Cuba.

The Cuban TikToker Alejandro Buján delights with new insights into the Spanish spoken on the island.

The popular Cuban TikToker @alejandro_bujan shared a new video full of humor and authenticity with some of the expressions that Cubans use to refer to the weather or the duration of things.

With his characteristic style, Alejandro invites at the beginning of the video to "grab a 10" to enjoy his list, which he will explain "in a jiffy."

In the video, the young Cuban reviewed phrases that are part of everyday speech in Cuba, where if something is extremely old they will say "it's from the year of the bomb" or "from the year of the horn." Another equivalence he mentions is "that's from when Martí took the photo for the peso."

Alejandro also acknowledged the special creativity of Cuban mothers when it comes to referring to prolonged or indefinite punishments, with phrases like "you are grounded until I remember" or "until frogs grow hair."

And which ones would you add?

What do you think?
