An antique car crashed into a streetlight in a park in the Vista Alegre neighborhood of Santiago de Cuba, with no information yet on whether there were any human injuries.
The incident occurred early Monday morning, reported independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada on Facebook. According to neighbors in the area, by this afternoon the machine was still in the location.
The photos show the vehicle parked on the sidewalk with all the doors open.
The front part is embedded in the lamppost, which was even uprooted from its foundation and is tilted to one side.
Although the details of the incident are not known, some internet users suggest that the car, being old, might have had a steering failure.
Others speculate that the driver was drunk, while others insist that in any case, he was driving at excessive speed.
