After several years of effort and notable results, the Cuban Pedro León received the long-awaited promotion from the Houston Astros and will be activated this Tuesday in Major League Baseball.
The specialized journalist Francys Romero announced the news on the social network Facebook and highlighted the excellent statistics of the outfielder in the current Triple A season.
Until the moment of the call, León, 26 years old, had 19 home runs, 74 RBIs, and an OPS of .896. It is worth remembering that he signed in January 2021 with the Astros for 4 million dollars.
Thus, the outfielder will join his fellow countrymen Yordan Álvarez and Aledmys Díaz, who returned to the franchise just a few weeks ago.
The Houston team is struggling to qualify for the postseason, with a record of 55 wins and 51 losses. Tonight, they will play at home in the series against the Pittsburgh Pirates (54-52).
