The Cuban Diosvany Jiménez was arrested this Monday as a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred in Hialeah on the afternoon of July 30.

Local 10 reported this Tuesday that, according to the arrest report, the victim parked her car in front of her house when she was approached by two armed men.

Jiménez, a 52-year-old resident of Miami, snatched the fanny pack from the victim while the other assailant pointed a gun at his head, police said.

The two assailants got into a white SUV and fled south on West First Avenue, after which a witness called 911.

The victim reported that, before the robbery, they had made a large cash deposit at a Bank of America on Hialeah Drive and then headed to a convenience store on East First Avenue.

The detectives interviewed a witness who saw the entire robbery while sitting on her balcony and took a photo of the license plate of the suspicious vehicle, which, according to the police, had not been registered since 2013 and was not assigned to the white GMC Arcadia on which it was placed.

Later, the detectives discovered that the SUV was usually driven by Jiménez, who also matched the physical description given by the victim and a witness.

The police reported that a store camera recorded the victim being followed by a newer model, black Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV.

They indicated that the GMC stopped in the parking lot and one of the people inside the Mercedes got into the GMC.

The two people in the GMC continued to follow the victim as he moved away.

The robbery was also captured on surveillance video, which shows the suspects blocking the victim's car, Local 10 reported.

According to the police, Jiménez's mobile phone data confirmed that he was involved in the robbery.

Until this Tuesday, Jiménez was detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where his bail had not yet been set.

The authorities are still seeking information about the identity of the second robber.

Recently, a 53-year-old massage therapist of Cuban origin was arrested by the Miami police, allegedly for touching a woman's intimate areas during a massage and then offering her money to keep quiet about what happened.

According to an arrest report, Jorge Cardenio Destrades Llanes was detained at the Massage Envy location, located in Mary Brickell Village at 900 S. Miami Ave, Local 10 reported.

The police were notified that the man had sexually assaulted a 28-year-old woman while massaging her thigh during a full-body service.

In last July, two young Cubans, a 23-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, were arrested in the department of Canelones, in Uruguay, for stealing cartons of eggs at the poultry farm where they worked.

The arrested individuals committed the robbery at a farm located in the jurisdiction of the 12th precinct of San Bautista, in the locality of San Antonio.

Uruguayan press revealed that the theft had been occurring for a long time, which is why the amount stolen cannot be quantified.
