A driver of a Lada died on Friday night after his car was struck by a trailer that was traveling on the National Highway, in the section known as 8 Vías, at the entrance to the Cuban capital.
The accident was reported by the user Yankiel Marrero in the Facebook group "ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES por más experiencia y menos víctimas!", who stated that the truck driver fled the scene.
"On the night from Friday to Saturday, in 8 Vías, after the bridge of the first ring, a trailer hit a Lada and fled the scene," the young man stated.
Additionally, he stated that he got out of his car to help, “but sadly the man had passed away” due to the impact.
The post by this young driver does not provide any more details about the deceased person or photographs of the incident.
However, several users were alarmed by the lack of consideration on the part of the truck driver, as he did not stop to assist the affected individual.
"My God, rest in peace to that man, condolences to the family. Is there no humanity left? Where has the feeling of people gone? How sad everything that is happening in that country," noted an internet user.
Another user summed up: "Something needs to be done to reverse this situation, or we will be worse than animals; people no longer respect life, uncontrolled accidents, murders, a very bad path."
