Cuban residents in the city of Miami began this Saturday the tributes to the Virgin of Charity of El Cobre, whose celebration feast is on September 8.
Precisely this Saturday, residents of this city witnessed a procession of the Virgen de la Ermita de la Caridad through several points in the county.
The procession, which is held annually with the replica of the original image, made 10 stops in the city that hosts the largest Cuban exile community in the world, reported Martí Noticias.
"United with the people of Cuba" is the call, on this occasion, that the Ermita de la Caridad has made to the faithful of the Virgin, fully aware of the sorrows that burden the Cuban people.
The Virgin was transported in a casket aboard a white truck decorated with roses and guarded by a Cuban flag and one from the United States.
At each stop, there were chants in her commemoration, recalling how her image has been present in significant historical moments and in the everyday life of Cubans for several decades, strengthening the feeling of faith and national pride.
During the following week, the National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Charity invites to the numerous events organized in honor of the Patroness of Cuba.
