The Cuban creator on TikTok, Jorge (@jorge_drake1992), has generated a wave of comments after sharing a video where he showed a mobile home he found in Miami, which he claims is rented for 800 dollars a month.
Jorge, who expressed in the video his desire to move from Houston to Florida, explained that the high cost of rents in Miami has led him to seek more affordable alternatives, like this mobile home.
"My people, my wife and I want to move to Florida, but well, the rent here in Miami is expensive," he commented at the beginning of the video. During the tour, he enthusiastically showed the interior spaces: "This is a house... I live here happily," as well as details of the living room, kitchen, and bedroom, which he describes as cozy for a couple. "It's small, but it's cozy," he notes, while highlighting the air conditioning and the furniture included in the small home.
The rental of this mobile home has caused a stir on TikTok, where it has already accumulated more than 17,000 likes and around 1,300 comments.
Many users showed interest in knowing more details about the housing, while others questioned whether it is really possible to rent something in Miami for that price. "I doubt it, I don't believe you at all, there is nothing in Miami for $800," commented one user, while another pointed out that: "The land to put it on is $800, okay," suggesting that there would be additional costs for parking the mobile home.
Some compared the costs of living in other parts of the country: "Here in Texas I pay 725 a month for a regular apartment, but if it's very nice and at a good price." Despite the doubts about the price, other followers saw the option positively: "That's better than many houses in Miami and many people lived worse in Cuba," one of them expressed.
Among the hundreds of comments, several people mentioned advantages and disadvantages. One user stated: "Bro, forget about the big house; in the end, here one only goes home to sleep for a few hours. Miami is Miami, but you should be where you feel best." Another added: "To live like that in Miami, I’d rather live in Texas in an apartment." For his part, a follower highlighted: "If I were in the U.S., I wouldn’t think twice, I’d rent one of those."
Regarding the doubts about the price, one person commented: "800$ hand, not pesos." Additionally, a user shared their own experience: "I lived in one of those for 10 months when I arrived from Cuba. It's super comfortable, very nice." Finally, someone else questioned whether the price includes other expenses, asking: "How much does parking cost if I bring my trailer?"
Jorge also mentioned that the area where the mobile homes are located has a lake and a park, which for him makes the option of moving to Florida more attractive.
The debate among followers has focused on whether this rental option is viable in Miami and if the low monthly cost truly compensates for the possible limitations. While some users support the idea of renting a mobile home as a more economical way of life, others continue to raise concerns about additional costs and living conditions in this type of housing.
