In the images taken at the cemetery, Juan Carlos Linares can be seen, but his brother Omar is not, who is likely in Japan, where he works as a coach with the Chunichi Dragons.

According to the Pinar journalist Osbel Benítez Polo, the 86-year-old woman suffered from an acute pulmonary respiratory disease.

Omar and Juan Carlos Linares's mother "had the privilege of seeing her boys shine in Cuban baseball," in addition to being an "exemplary mother dedicated to her family and grandchildren," emphasized Benítez Polo.

Omar is considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time. He was hired in 2016 to coach the Japanese team Chunichi Dragons, a team he played for between 2002 and 2004, at the end of his career.

The "Niño Linares" played his last three seasons in the Japanese league, after the forced retirement he experienced in Cuba along with many other players.

In 2023, he/she extended this contract.
