Cuban ex-lecturer in the U.S. recalls the importance of answering calls from family on the island: "It might be the last one."

Many users have reacted, lamenting that life no longer allows them to apply their advice.

The young former Cuban radio host Alejandro Quintana (@alequintanaoficial), who has been residing in Miami since 2022, has deeply moved his audience with his reflection on the importance of answering calls from Cuba, especially when they come from family, friends, or loved ones.

"Sometimes life can change in an instant. Perhaps that is the last call you will receive from that phone number," Quintana expressed online a few days ago, recalling how fleeting time can be and how valuable it is to maintain the connection with loved ones. "Life passes us by without seeing or embracing the person on the other side of the sea," he added, appealing to the experience of so many immigrants who, like him, are far from home.

The reactions of the followers have been equally moving and reflect the reality of many Cubans in exile. “Your words fill me with emotion, you have many feelings and everything you say is very real”; “You made me cry, you reach the deepest part of our hearts with your wonderful words”; “Something similar happened to me, I was busy and I couldn't take my sister's last call. She died that day and my heart died with her”; “I never do it because my heart is shattered from wanting to go back”; “Every time you make a video, you make my throat tighten,” some commented.

Quintana, who recently spoke about her first year in the U.S., continues to use her platform to share messages filled with wisdom and empathy, reminding her followers that although life abroad can be difficult, one should not disregard those family ties that sustain the soul.
