A year and a half after being violently attacked with a machete during a robbery in Holguín, the young Cuban Lester Domínguez continues his rehabilitation in Havana, although his recovery is slow.

Lester, who has not been able to walk since the assault, began a new treatment in July at the Julio Díaz hospital in Havana, right on his birthday.

Two months later, his father reveals that "he is still gaining in sensitivity and in terms of movements."

"His recovery is slow," said Dennis Domínguez on his Facebook wall, who emphasized that his son is underweight.

"There we see him doing exercises to improve his movements. And to tell you that he remains focused on his rehabilitation to see where he can go. Lester has an incomplete C5 spinal cord injury. (...) Where we need to work more is on the trunk; the parts of the hand and leg are doing very well," he detailed.
