A family in Havana continues to be desperate over the disappearance of an elderly man who has been missing for 72 hours, which is why his daughter turned to social media for help.

"Please, let me know any news, I need to find my dad, it's been 72 hours and we don't know anything," wrote Ivonne Vila Martínez on Facebook in her plea for help to find her father, who disappeared somewhere in the city and suffers from dementia.

The family's concern, residing in the Cerro municipality, increases with each passing hour. Martínez provided a contact number for anyone who might have information: "Anyone can call me, no matter the hour, 55383789."

Reports of missing persons have been very frequent this past year. Daily, requests for help from family and friends circulate on social media to obtain information that can help locate their loved ones, due to the lack of a channel provided by the Cuban state to do so.

Last week, a man requested help to find his mother who has been missing for several days in Holguín. The woman is mentally ill and escaped from her home.

Also at the beginning of the month, Yeleine Hudson Téllez's family took to social media to report her disappearance in Havana and to ask for the community's help in locating her.

Mirian Blake, a 74-year-old woman with dementia, has been missing for over three months in the Cuban capital, according to her family.

One of the cases that remains unresolved is that of young mother Karildi Marín, who disappeared in Havana in December 2023. Ten months after her disappearance, her family continues to seek answers about what happened to her and questions the police's actions in her case.
