Cuban teenager is missing in Miami: The family is asking for help.

A 14-year-old Cuban teenager, identified as Alyssa Mariela González Velázquez, has been missing since Sunday night, when she left her home in West Miami shortly after seven in the evening.

The family of the minor, who recently arrived from Cuba, is distressed, as they claim that the teenager had never left home unexpectedly.

"She left at 7:30 p.m. to take out the trash. She told me she would be back right away," her mother, Lissandra Velázquez, reported to the local press.

Noticing that she was not returning, her mother and younger brother started looking for her in the building, but they found no trace of Alyssa.

"We couldn't find her anywhere, neither in the building nor in the surrounding area," he expressed with concern.

A video from a security camera inside the building showed the young woman exiting the property quickly. In her hand, she was carrying some clothing that her mother specified were several pairs of shorts.

At the time she was last seen, Alyssa Mariela was wearing a black sleeveless shirt, caramel-colored pants, and purple sandals.

Lissandra stated to local U.S. media that her daughter does not suffer from mental health issues nor had she shown signs of personal or family conflicts that could have motivated her to run away from home.

Alyssa had made some friends recently at her new school, but her mother admitted that she doesn't have information about them or their families.

"We don't know those friends because she met them recently," she pointed out, fearing that her daughter might be in danger or under the influence of someone with bad intentions.

The West Miami police have intensified efforts to find the young woman, distributing posters with her photo and physical characteristics, hoping to obtain any clues about her whereabouts.

In the meantime, the family continues to desperately seek help through social media and the press, pleading for the return of the minor.

Neighbors and friends have also joined the search, covering nearby areas and distributing flyers with the image of the teenager. However, so far no significant leads have been obtained.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Alyssa to contact the West Miami Police Department.
