A month has passed since the death of José Manuel Carbajal, better known as El Taiger, but his friends and colleagues continue to remember him whenever they have the chance. This was the case at the recent concert of Gente de Zona in Fuerteventura, Spain, where the two Cuban singers, Alexander Delgado and Randy Malcom, paid tribute to La Tranka by playing "La Historia" during their performance.
"If you love El Taiger's music, raise your hand, my people. May God hold him in holy glory. Gente de Zona loves you, the people of the island love you, the people of Fuerteventura love you, the people of Cuba love you," said El Monarca before introducing one of El Taiger's biggest hits. "Let it be heard up in heaven," added Randy Malcom before the first chords of "La Historia" began to play. It was an emotional moment in which Alexander Delgado couldn't hold back his tears.
An emotional moment that moved the audience present, who quickly expressed their support and admiration.
The performance of "La Historia" during the concert was a significant gesture, as this song has become a symbol of El Taiger's musical journey.
"Alexander must be among those who feel the most pain because they cared for each other and he left without being able to smooth things over; that thorn is hard to bear," "Any tribute to José is appreciated; he was an artist with a unique charisma, humble, simple, with a heart of gold and the feeling of all Cubans," "Even I shed tears," or "Alexander couldn't hold back, and his tears flowed; they loved and respected each other," are some of the comments found alongside the videos capturing this heartfelt moment.
This tribute from Gente de Zona to El Taiger comes one month after the Cuban singer's death, who was one of the great representatives of Cuban music. José Manuel Carbajal passed away on October 10 in Miami after being shot in the head a week earlier.
