Mother searches for her missing daughter in Havana: "We are desperate"

The young woman was last seen on Monday at the entrance of her school, the Cepero Bonilla Polytechnic. She never attended her classes.

A Cuban mother is desperately searching for her teenage daughter, who disappeared on Monday in Havana after leaving school.

Susana Cruz shared a photo on her Facebook wall with her daughter, Melani Hernández Cruz, who is 16 years old.

"They saw her for the last time at the gates of her school, the Cepero Bonilla Polytechnic, which is located inside the Red Square, here in Havana. She never went to class. Since 8:15 that morning, we have not heard anything," he explained.

The young girl was dressed in a blue school uniform skirt, a white pullover, and a turban made of yabó on her head.

"She currently has shoulder-length hair. For any information, please call 52656716, 55583958, or 52664593. We are desperate," she emphasized in another post.

The troubled mother confirmed that she filed a report with the police.
