The son of Mabel García Corrales, a 54-year-old Cuban, recalled on social media that his mother has been missing since the first week of July, when she was last seen in the province of Ciego de Ávila, where she lives.
"My mom is still missing; please share this. If anyone sees her, please send me photos, as she has already been mistaken for other people," wrote the user JoseDay DayJose on Facebook, emphasizing that it has been 4 months since his mother disappeared.
“Help me because the police aren’t doing anything about it,” the desperate son complained, adding that his mother, although named Mabel, is known as Marbeli and is ill with nerves, but is not aggressive.
In previous posts, the family reported that they filed a complaint with the police. They also requested that anyone with information can call 55200690, message JoseDay DayJose on Messenger, or report to the authorities.
The feminist platform YoSíTeCreo in Cuba also raised the alarm about Mabel's disappearance, describing her, based on information from her loved ones, as a woman with black hair streaked with gray and black eyes.
Reports of missing persons have been very frequent over the past year. Weekly, pleas for help from family and friends circulate on social media in search of information to locate their loved ones, due to the lack of a state channel in Cuba to address these concerns.
At the end of October, a family in Havana desperately turned to social media for help after the disappearance of an elderly man.
The family, residing in the Cerro municipality, provided a contact number for anyone who might have information: "55383789" to reach the gentleman's daughter.
A Cuban fisherman has also been missing since he went out fishing in Santa Cruz del Norte, in the province of Mayabeque, from Havana, according to family sources.
One of the unresolved cases is that of young mother Karildi Marín, who disappeared in Havana in December 2023. Ten months after her disappearance, her family continues to seek answers about what happened to her and is questioning the police's response in her case.
