Hander Rodríguez del Río's post clarified that the driver was the only occupant of the car, which veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

As a result of the severe collision, the man sustained injuries and had to undergo surgery, it was reported. At the time of publishing this note, the condition of the injured individual remains unknown.

The front part of the vehicle -which, based on visible details, appears to be from the Chinese brand Geely, common in Cuba- was completely wrecked due to the force of the collision with the tree, whose trunk also bore marks and scratches from the impact.

The causes of the incident are unknown, although some internet users speculated that the driver may have fallen asleep or attributed it to the poor condition of the road due to lack of maintenance, which has led to several accidents in recent times.

According to official statistics, there was a 13% decrease in traffic accidents in the first half of 2024, with 543 fewer incidents compared to the first six months of 2023.

The Specialized Traffic Body of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) stated that "among the main causes of traffic accidents in the country, distractions while driving stand out as the primary cause."

According to their figures, in the first half of the year, drivers were responsible for 52% of accidents, 75% of deaths, and 55% of injuries.
