"I am unaware of the exact details. Several people were injured. At the time of the incident, there were no fatalities," said user Roy Baracoa.

"I assisted a young man in almost critical condition to the local hospital. (He arrived alive)," he stated.

In the comments section of the post, several group members claimed that the motorcycle driver, a young soldier who lived in Guantánamo, has died.

"Unfortunately, my cousin, Álvaro Loyola, an officer of the Border Brigade, passed away, as did the other young man who was with him, who I believe was also an officer of the BF," said Leandro Martínez Bombalé, from Guantánamo.

Rafael Tola León, who according to his Facebook profile is the head of the Medical Emergency Service Base of MINSAP in Santiago province, stated that the accident resulted in two fatalities and one person injured in critical condition.

Last Friday, an accident occurred between a motorbike and a minibus, commonly known as 'gacelas', at the busy intersection of 19th and 42nd Avenues in the Playa municipality of Havana, due to the traffic light being out.

The motorist suffered serious injuries and lay on the street, according to a video shared by the Twitter user ASERE YA.

"The cars did not stop; you can see in the video how many passed by, both state and private vehicles, ignoring the cries for help, until a charitable soul took him to the hospital. The ambulance arrived 30 or 40 minutes after they took the injured man away, for nothing," he reported.

Days earlier, another motorcyclist was injured after being hit by a car in Havana, at the central corner of Zapata and Paseo in El Vedado.

The motorcycle was left on the street, almost under the car. The driver was taken away unconscious.
